Your records & your privacy

Privacy Policy

Uchinoko (うちの子カルテ) is an app for recording and reviewing dog and cat care information. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or veterinary advice.

Information stored on your device

Pet profiles, care observations, photos and videos, vet clinic information, medications, expenses, visit notes, appointments, and weight records are primarily stored on your device.

If you create a ZIP backup or export a report, the resulting file contains the information included in that backup or report. You choose where to save or share it.

A file you save outside the app is not removed simply by deleting the app's local records or uninstalling the app. Saving a backup file is not automatic cloud syncing.

Optional sign-in

Apple or Google sign-in is optional. If you sign in, the sign-in provider and Supabase process information needed for authentication, such as your account identifier and email address.

Sign-in does not provide automatic synchronization of care records between devices or family members.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes in-app purchases and subscription billing. Uchinoko does not receive your credit card details. RevenueCat processes identifiers, purchase and subscription information, and device information needed to verify purchases and manage Premium access.

See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for information about its processing.

Usage analytics

Uchinoko uses Firebase Analytics to understand app usage and improve the app. Custom events include actions such as adding a record, opening a screen, exporting a file, or completing a purchase flow.

Uchinoko's custom analytics events do not include the contents of your care notes, pet names, photos, or videos. Firebase may also process app instance identifiers, device information, and other analytics information according to its configuration.

See Google's Privacy Policy.

Advertising

The free app may display advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may process device information, advertising identifiers, and other information for advertising according to the app's configuration, permissions, and applicable consent choices. Premium removes in-app advertising.

Advertising and tracking controls are available in your device settings. See Google's Privacy Policy for details about its services.

Apple Ads measurement

Uchinoko uses Apple AdServices and RevenueCat to measure installs attributed to Apple Ads and subsequent subscription outcomes. An Apple-issued attribution token and attribution information, such as campaign, ad group, and keyword data, may be sent to and stored by RevenueCat.

This AdServices measurement does not obtain the IDFA and is not used by Uchinoko to track you across other companies' apps or websites. This statement describes AdServices measurement, not every advertising SDK's behavior.

How information is used and shared

Information is used to display and manage records, support review before vet visits, manage optional sign-in, verify Premium access, operate advertising, and measure app usage and advertising outcomes.

Information necessary for those functions may be processed by Apple, Google, Supabase, and RevenueCat as described above. We do not sell the app information we collect to third parties.

Camera, microphone, and photo access

Uchinoko requests permission when camera, microphone, or photo-library access is needed to record or attach media. You can change permissions in device settings. Attached media is stored locally unless you choose to export, back up, or share it.

Deleting records and accounts

You can delete records through the app's editing controls and delete local app data through settings. Uninstalling the app removes its app-managed local records. Copies you previously saved or shared outside the app may remain in those locations.

If you created an app account through Apple or Google sign-in, you can request account deletion through the account section of Uchinoko's settings or contact us.

Account information, including the email address, display name, profile image URL, and sign-in identifiers, is deleted within 30 days after the request is received.

Account deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage subscriptions through your Apple Account.

Policy changes

This policy may be updated when the app or its data practices change. Important changes will be communicated through an app update or an in-app notice.
